Interspecifics<\/a> <\/strong>(MX) is a nomadic multispecies collective operating at the intersection of art and science. They focus on hybrid practices with living organisms. Accessibility and open source as well as a hands-on and DIY mentality are an essential part of their methodology, which they refer to as the mechanics of an ontological machine. Interspecifics uses sound to explore the bioelectrical activity of bacteria, plants, slime moulds and, last but not least, humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media artist Leslie Garcia represents Interspecifics within KLANGHAIN with the piece Terrestrial Transmitter<\/em> (2024) and a live performance on the speculative communication with non-human organisms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The post-media artist and researcher Sa\u0161a Spa\u010da<\/a><\/strong>l<\/a> (SI) lives and works in a secluded forest in the vicinity of Ljubljana. She develops installations and performances that interact with fauna and flora. In doing so, Sa\u0161a deliberately seeks moments of co-creation with non-human species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her contribution for KLANGHAIN lets mushroom mycelium resonate on a large-scale string instrument.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sound and media artist Ji\u0159\u00ed Such\u00e1nek<\/a><\/strong> (CZ) explores the relationship between nature, technology, and the durability of electronic media. Ji\u0159\u00ed is an advocate of the idea of open, collective authorship, in which the environment itself becomes a co-author of the artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For KLANGHAIN, he will let us tap into the various layers of earthworm existence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
