Vector synthesis is an artistic and media-archaeological practice that transforms analogue synthesizers’ audio signals through software, lasers, or oscilloscopes into visual line geometries. Visual graphic and sonic impressions overlap to create a sounding image. Alluding to it in its title — OTHER GEOMETRIES curated by Bernhard Rasinger and Lona Gaikis presents artists who utilize this direct correlation between sound and image to create synesthetic experiential spaces and enable alternative space-time perception.
Organized as an audiovisual light and sound event within an evening program, we extend our engagement for curious minds with a workshop on laser technology and vector synthesis led by Croatian artist Hrvoje Stivic.
