VECTOR SYNTHESIS WORKSHOP

Media artist and educator HRVOJE RADNIĆ will guide participants through the steps of oscilloscope visualization using Pure Data (free software) and sosci (CRT display emulator).

• You’ll become familiar with the basics of how the oscilloscope functions as both measurement device and artistic apparatus, to the elementary mathematics that animate data graphics.
• You’ll explore the generation of basic waveforms, amplitude and frequency modulation, the creative manipulation of wave tables, layering multiple images, and perspective transformations.

Hrvoje will share pre-configured objects and modules to demonstrate the imaginative possibilities within these technical parameters: the threshold between what sounds compelling and what looks compelling.

The workshop is designed for those seeking hands-on experience with the tools and thinking that underpin vector synthesis: no prior knowledge necessary, only curiosity about the entanglement of sound, geometry, and electronic perception.
